Moon Info
Moon Phases Calendar
More Calendars to Print

Print out the following pages to make a one-month moon phases calendar. You can observe and draw the phases of the moon for a single month or for the entire year.

Month Number of Days
January 31
February 28 (29 in leap years, like 2008)
March 31
April 30
May 31
June 30
July 31
August 31
September 30
October 31
November 30
December 31
Instructions:

  1. Print out the month(s) you need.
  2. Have the student write the name of the month and year on the page.
  3. Determine on which day the month starts, and start your numbering on that day. For example, January, 2006, starts on a Sunday.
  4. Then find out how many days are in that month (see the table to the right). Remember the rhyme, "Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest have thirty-one, Excepting February alone, and it has twenty-eight days time, but in leap years, February has twenty-nine."
  5. Each night, observe the moon and draw that moon phase on the calendar on the correct date.
